Here’s how Wanda Maximoff proves she’s the strongest in the Marvel Cinematic Universe during Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Spoilers ahead.

The biggest question everyone had before Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was what’s up with Wanda Maximoff.

The WandaVision end credit scene showed the Marvel Cinematic Universe‘s Scarlet Witch in two places at once. One of them seemed to be enjoying a quiet life. The other was deep in a trance studying the Darkhold.

No one knew what she was looking for in the Darkhold. The only thing for certain is that a book of evil and dark spells can’t be good. If the book was evil, why would an Avenger use it?

That query was answered in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

***WARNING! SPOILERS FOR DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS AHEAD!***

Doctor Strange 2 showcases Wanda’s powers like never before

In WandaVision, Wanda created the perfect life for herself with the perfect family. At the end of the series, though, that family she created with her powers ceased to exist as the Hex was brought down and both her beloved Vision and children were gone. After studying the Darkhold, however, Wanda found a way to get her family back. She would find another Earth where her twins exist. This caused problems that could affect the entire multiverse.

First, Wanda dream walked. A trick that’s forbidden and dangerous, it showcased how much her power had increased. Second, and the biggest problem, she was going to steal America Chavez’s powers to enter the multiverse. In the process, America would be killed. While that was fatal for the young hero, it shockingly isn’t the worst part. Doing so could have major repercussions on the multiverse. Wanda didn’t care. She wanted her family back. The funny thing is there was nothing anybody could do to stop Wanda from achieving her goal.

No one could stop Wanda Maximoff

Agatha Harkness told Wanda in WandaVision that the Scarlet Witch is even more powerful than the Sorcerer Supreme. That wasn’t hyperbole. Wanda proved this from the beginning of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. First, when the demons she controlled killed an alternate reality Doctor Strange, and secondly, when she defeated the entirety of Kamar-Taj. Not even the combined force of Doctor Strange and Wong (who is Sorcerer Supreme) could contain her, let alone defeat her.

Her reign of terror didn’t stop there. When Wanda gained access to the Earth Doctor Strange and America Chavez traveled to, she was approached by the Illuminati. In this reality it was Charles Xavier, Captain Carter, Reed Richards (John Krasinski), Captain Marvel (Lashana Lynch who played Maria Rambeau), Black Bolt, and Baron Mordo. When they tried to fight her, all but Mordo were brutally killed.

The fact that Wanda Maximoff defeated all of these powerful heroes on her own shows that her powers are greater than any of the Avengers. In Avengers: Endgame, she showed Thanos that his strength was nothing compared to her’s. We saw her abilities again when she defeated Agatha Harkness in WandaVision. And yet, even then, Wanda’s abilities were still in their infancy. When she read the Darkhold, it was game over for anyone who tried to fight her. Not even the Hulk at his angriest or Thor with Stormbreaker can beat her now. If they can’t, what chance do any of the other Avengers have? This writer says none.

It’s official: Wanda Maximoff is the most powerful Avenger.
