DC’s Stargirl is one of The CW’s most beloved shows but what is its renewal status? Is it canceled or renewed?

DC’s Stargirl is one of the best superhero shows you’ll find on television. Originally a streaming exclusive, it was produced by DC Universe before that service evolved into a comics-only service, at which point it was moved to The CW.

The first season of the show had its TV debut on The CW, airing the day after it premiered on DC Universe, and it was such a strong performer that it became an original program for the network after that.

Speaking of The CW, the long-running network canceled a bunch of its most popular shows recently, leaving fans wondering what the future holds for Stargirl.

Is Stargirl canceled?

Stargirl has not been canceled by The CW. In fact, the show was renewed last year for its third season which has yet to air on The CW.

As of now, it and new series Tom Swift are the only shows the network has yet to make a decision on in regards to whether they will return for the 2022 – 2023 TV season, and that is likely down to the fact that neither one has aired their current seasons.

Is Stargirl season 4 happening?

While Stargirl season 3, subtitled Frenemies, will likely premiere on The CW in the summer (the show has performed well as a summer show since its debut), fans are anxiously waiting to see if the network will renew it for a fourth.

The show has a history of early renewals, with its second season announcement (and move to The CW) coming midway through its first season’s run and the third season renewal coming before its second season even premiered. Let’s hope a season 4 renewal will follow suit and we hear more updates before or at the network’s Upfronts presentation.
