She-Hulk: Attorney At Law is on its way and the first full trailer hides a lot of interesting teases.

On May 17, the official trailer for the nine-episode superhero legal-comedy drama series, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, dropped on the Marvel YouTube channel after Disney’s Upfront presentation. This comes after the Disney Plus show’s premiere date was confirmed to be on Wednesday, August 17.

Now, we will break down the clips from the trailer and look at what you can expect from the Disney Plus original series.

What happens in the She-Hulk trailer?

The main trailer opens with a starry New York skyline before you hear the voiceover of Mark Ruffalo’s Dr. Bruce Banner/Hulk who utters the words, “Being a superhero is a trial by fire,” as it cuts into a red-hued party, before it switches to an SUV that crashes from the main road into the middle of a wild, green field. The symbolism could not get any less subtle. Before it switches to the car crash, there is a scene in a blue filter of a group of armed men in headgear. Back to the crash, Dr. Banner finishes: “Who’s going to protect the world, if not people like you?”

This writer has a theory about that crash, which may have something to do with how our series protagonist came to be. The scene then cuts to She-Hulk in her comic-accurate super-suit as seen from the initial teaser trailer. A custom green Marvel Studios logo beams on-screen as Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany) narrates her tale.

We then get a group of shots depicting the rest of the cast such as Nikki (Ginger Gonzaga), Amelia (Renée Elise Goldsberry) and an unknown GLKH lawyer (Josh Segarra), in addition to an unidentified actor portraying Holden Holloway.

We meet Dr. Banner in Hulk form as he is attempting to train Jennifer to control her transformations into She-Hulk within a Gamma Lab. Her triggers are fear and anger, which she demonstrates by crushing a mechanism with saws in her Gammazonian might. Furious, she breaks the door out to deal with her cousin. Throughout, when the appearance of She-Hulk comes to light, Jennifer may have to deal with the pressure of being a sensation and juggling honest law work as a district attorney.

We then see some shots which display her glamorous side and her dating life as a thirty-something single green-skinned female attorney/superhero. At night, it displays Jennifer bursting out the soles of her shoes on a construction site and her facing some hard hats who possibly may be the builders (that may become the Wrecking Crew, who are rumored to appear on the show).

Cuts of Jameela Jamil as main big bad Titania, Abomination (Tim Roth), and Frog-Man flash across the scene before She-Hulk does a super-leap above us and the main titles She-Hulk: Attorney at Law rolls across the screen.

Is there more to She-Hulk: Attorney At Law than we already know?

It seems that the show is taking a lot of inspiration from not only the John Byrne run but Dan Slott’s as well, possibly with a slightly different take on She-Hulk’s origin story – as suggested by the crash, which is presumably the circumstance in which Jennifer was in dire need of a gamma-infused blood transfusion. This writer still believes the character played by Segarra may still be a villain. See my prior theory on which character he may actually be.

Regardless, there is a lot going on in the She-Hulk trailer, and a lot to look forward to from the show.
