The Flash season 8, episode 17 release date: When does the show return from hiatus?

The Flash season 8 airs each Wednesday, but when can fans expect the seventeenth episode? When does the next episode, “Keep It Dark”, premiere?

Barry Allen definitely hasn’t had the easiest of times during his residence in Central City. He’s suffered more family tragedies than anyone should have to endure, he’s developed superhuman abilities, battled evil archenemies from the future he didn’t even know he had, traveled through time, defeated aliens and dealt with the end of the freakin’ universe (or, well, multiverse).

After that, the Scarlet Speedster and his team had to contend with another alien invasion. But this one came in the form of the villainous Despero, who wanted to kill Central City’s hero out of fear of what’s destined to happen in the future. The Arrowverse‘s crossover event ultimately ended with Barry defeating Despero and his archenemy Reverse-Flash.

The show returned from a lengthy hiatus to officially launch its eighth season with an episode that saw Bart Allen and Nora West-Allen get into some trouble in the timeline. However, we soon found ourselves back in the present for more Team Flash adventures and things have taken some unexpected turns throughout the season.

On that note, when can fans expect the next installment? Well, there will be a bit of a hiatus on our hands.

The Flash season 8, episode 17 release date

The Flash season 8 returns to The CW on Wednesday, June 8, at 8:00 p.m. ET.

The returning episode, titled “Keep It Dark”, will see the Scarlet Speedster grow concerned about a potential new speedster in town, leading him to visit Eobard Thawne on Lian Yu. It may also deal with the fallout of Barry’s shocking decision to destroy all of Caitlin’s work to revive Frost in the previous episode.

Speaking of Caitlin and Frost, the episode is directed by Flash veteran Danielle Panabaker.
