What does Hopper’s letter to Joyce say?
In the Stranger Things season 4 premiere, the Byers are adjusting to life in California which for Joyce has involved struggling to settle in with her new job as an Encylopedia phone salesperson. While others are ready to put Hopper in the past and believe he’s truly gone, Joyce continues to keep the faith and her suspicions are quickly confirmed when she receives a mysterious package containing a Russian doll.
Upon breaking it open, Joyce discovers a note from Hopper that not only confirms he’s alive but provides steps for how to help bring him home safely. Using magazine clippings to make the letter, the note Hopper is able to send from Joyce seems to have been put together by a Russian guard at the prison who is helping Hopper, in exchange for some cash.
Curious to know what the letter said? Here is the unedited version of what Hopper’s letter to Joyce said:
"“Hop is alive. He looks ford too date. Pleeze to make resarvazion, call 7-415-218-4642 (have pic of rest of numbers). Open twelve day P.E.T.T. No govt, pls. Kind regards, Enzo.”"
The letter, which was sent by a proxy, was used to confirm to Joyce that Hopper was alive as well as to provide a number to contact Enzo — which Joyce promptly did. We won’t spoil how things go once the two connect, but let’s just say it’s a wild ride!
