Stranger Things season 4: 5 burning questions after part 1
2. Will Eleven get her powers back?
Ever since Eleven lost her powers at the end of Stanger Things season 3, viewers have wondered how – or if – she would get them back. Well, it seems that season 4 is on course to not only getting her to that point, but amplifying them when she returns.
With Dr. Brenner back from the dead and seemingly willing to help her return to full strength (and beyond), Eleven agreed to the experiments he once forced her to take in order to reconnect with her past – and, by extension, her powers.
Now that El has figured out how she reached her full potential in the first place (and understands who the major threat is), it looks like she may have found her way back to her abilities. With the misguided authorities on her trail, her rediscovered powers have returned just in time. Can she stop them, prove her innocence and find her way back to Hawkins to save her friends?
1. Can Vecna be stopped?
The seventh episode of Stranger Things season 4 ended with the shocking revelation that Vecna didn’t originate in the Upside Down. No, he was Number One – a gifted, but vengeful young man disguised as an orderly at the Hawkins Lab out to remake the world by destroying it. However, Eleven put an end to his wrath in 1979 when she overwhelmed his powers with her own and sent him into the Upside Down – the first time that a Gate to the other dimension was opened.
If Eleven’s abilities are capable of opening gates to the Upside Down, so are Vecna’s – something we’re already seeing, as each kill opens a new gate – and if he’s a loyal soldier of the Mind Flayer’s, it’s clear that the only way to stop him will be to end him. And we all know that there may only be one person capable of doing that.
