It’s going to be an eventful week for fans of Amazon Studios’ Emmy-nominated superhero drama, The Boys!

Not only does the series return this week for its third season, but fans are about to be able to bring home the first and second seasons of the hit series on Blu-ray and DVD via an incredible new collection!

Thanks to the Sony Pictures Home Entertainment team, we received a review copy of The Boys Seasons 1 & 2 Collection providing us the chance to take an in-depth look at the 6-disc set!

In addition to containing all 16 episodes featured across the two seasons, The Boys Blu-ray collection includes a number of bonus features to enjoy.

Included in the collection are deleted scenes and a blooper reel for both seasons, but that’s not all! The season 2 discs also include extended scenes as well as Butcher: A Short Film. The five-minute short film helps fill in the gap between season 1 and season 2 to reveal what happened during Billy Butcher’s missing couple of weeks after the events of season 1.

Is The Boys seasons 1 & 2 Blu-ray collection worth it?

As a fan and consumer, the driving decision behind my personal decision to purchase the latest season set of my favorite shows typically comes down to the collection’s special features – after all, I already have seen the episodes and have the ability to re-watch them via the many streaming services I subscribe to.

In looking at a DVD and Blu-ray release, I’m looking for never-before-seen features which provide me with new material to enjoy; features I’ll only find via the series’ home video release. Typically, this entails looking for a release to feature items such as deleted scenes and special bonus featurettes including gag reels, comic-con panels and behind-the-scenes features.

So how does The Boys seasons 1 & 2 Blu-ray collection measure up with this all in mind?

Perhaps it’s because I just love this series so much, but purchasing this collection was a must for me even before seeing what bonus features it included. Once I did see the bonus features, I will confess I was impressed.

Sure there could be some more bonus featurettes, but the collection features some really nice bonus features including new footage in the form of the deleted and extended scenes. Plus, I’m a total sucker for a blooper reel and the blooper reels for both seasons are so great and are sure to make you smile.

If you’re someone who loves owning a physical collection of the shows you love and some bonus features, I think you’re going to love The Boys seasons 1 & 2 Blu-ray collection!
