4. Hope Summers kills
Comic book: Immortal X-Men No. 2
Hope Summers became the newest member of the Quiet Council in the debut issue of Immortal X-Men beating out Selene for the spot. The mutant vampire didn’t take that well. She brought a magical monster to life to show why she was needed. After that, she went to Krakoa’s enemies to try and make a deal.
Destiny told Hope exactly where Selene would be at the exact time. Hope then borrowed a teleporting mutant’s powers and killed Selene. When the Quiet Council of Krakoa questioned her, Hope reminded them that she broke no laws. The Council seems okay with her decision. For now at least. This writer believes she’s the perfect person to be part of the Council.
3. Vigilantes are still illegal
Comic book: Devil’s Reign Omega No. 1
After Luke Cage became Mayor of New York (Devil’s Reign No. 6), readers thought that the Thunderbolts were done in New York. Unfortunately, the superhero task force is still intact. Obviously, Luke wasn’t happy about this. The problem is that a lot of the citizens in New York feel safe with them. What they don’t know is that there are villains in the mix, like the racist Crossbones.
Instead of getting rid of the Thunderbolts all together, Luke Cage decides to work within the system. First, he goes to Monica Rambeau to become the leader of the Thunderbolts. She declines saying it’s too much. The next person in line is an original Thunderbolts leader. Clint Barton (Hawkeye) will be their leader once again.
