DC just killed off a major Batman character in a shock twist
By Mark Lynch
Talia al Ghul just killed DC Comics’ greatest assassin in the Batman, Deathstroke, and Robin crossover Shadow War.
The Batman, Deathstroke, and Robin DC Comics crossover Shadow War began with a major death. Big time villain Ra’s al Ghul was planning on turning himself in after his press conference but his plan was never completed. Ra’s was shot and killed by Slade Wilson a.k.a. Deathstroke. The worst part is that it was right in front of his daughter Talia al Ghul and his grandson Damian Wayne (Robin).
Talia immediately contacted a league of killers called the Demon’s Shadows and the League of Shadows. Their job was to hunt and kill everyone connected to Deathstroke. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the real Deathstroke that killed Ra’s. Talia and Slade were being played. The fake Deathstroke wanted them to kill each other.
His plan was working better than expected. Along the way, Talia’s League of Shadow warriors shot and killed Deathstroke’s cloned son, Respawn. That sent Slade into kill mode. He gathered the rest of Deathstroke Inc. and set out to kill Talia.
The pair then finally face-off and fight one-on-one. It looked like Deathstroke was going to win, but Slade made the mistake of underestimating Talia, who capitalized on that and killed Deathstroke before Batman, Robin, or Slade’s daughter Rose Wilson (Ravager) could intervene.
As Talia stood over Slade’s dead body, the person imitating Deathstroke walks in. He tells Batman that Talia did what he should have done years ago: Kill Deathstroke. The impersonator rips off his costume and reveals that the culprit is Geo Force. He then tells everyone that Talia al Ghul dies or everyone does.
Geo Force (whose real name is Brion Markov) is a member of the royal family in Markovia. With Talia holding fort in Markovia, it makes sense that he’d need her dead. Brion wanted Deathstroke dead for using Terra as a spy against him. All of this is coming full circle for Geo Force. Let’s see if he gets his wish and kills Talia al Ghul.
