All of this helps a great deal in keeping fans interested in the show and appealing to new viewers, all while it has been off screens over the past few years. All of this leads nicely to The Boys season 3 premiere.

If you go on the history of The Boys, we can assume that season 3 will be even better than the first two seasons. The creative team knows what the fans want and how to give it to them. It was evident when Herogasm was announced. The people behind the show know that the program has to tread lightly. The Boys has to be raunchy, but not repulsive. When writer Eric Kripke said he knew how to make Herogasm work, this writer knew this was going to be an epic season. The trailers all but confirmed this.

What to expect with The Boys premiere

The first thing viewers can anticipate is what the main characters have been up to. Billy Butcher and Hughie Campbell have been working together. A relationship that certainly isn’t making Butcher happy. Taking orders from Hughie must feel degrading. Not just because he used to be his boss, but there’s no way Hughie isn’t enjoying ordering him around.

Meanwhile, Homelander is on a press tour for the Vought International movie Dawn of the Seven (an obvious shot at the Justice League). A lot of the questions during his interviews were about Stormfront. Homelander had to keep explaining that he made a mistake with a seemingly prewritten response to the query.

Also look for Homelander to be crazier than he has ever been before. The blank stares in his eyes are clearly seen in the season 3 trailers. Homelander has been hurt so he’ll be looking to hurt someone else if not everyone. He probably won’t reveal his plans in the first episode. He will, however, show a need to do and be more than he is. That need is to regain control of his life and possibly the world if it’s like the comic book series. Something that will leave a trail of blood and bodies wherever he goes. To make it worse, it looks like the public is behind him.
