2. John David Washington

Before it was common knowledge that John David Washington was Denzel Washington’s son, he was on his way to being a mega star in his own right. When we found out, it didn’t matter. He was already a sought after actor all on his own. Movies like Malcom and Marie, Tenet, and BlacKkKlansman are all examples of his supreme acting prowess.

Someone like John David Washington should play a character that should be influential to comic books and Black people. This writer can’t think of anyone better than Adam Brashear, a.k.a. Blue Marvel. A character that highlighted the racial injustice in America that even heroes weren’t exempt from. He’s also one of the strongest and most powerful characters in all of comics – so smart, in fact, that Reed Richards goes to him for advice at times and sp strong that he knocked out a Hulk with one punch.

1. Yara Shahidi

Yara Shahidi went from being the young adult in Black-ish to producing and starring in episodes of Grown-ish. This is the kind of growth that’s amazing to see. Yara has continued to become more than someone in front and behind the camera. She recently became the Global Brand Ambassador for Dior. Who knows what’s next.

Milestone Comics is a company that focuses on Black superheroes and titles. Among the titles is Icon and Rocket. Yara could play Raquel Ervin, a.k.a. Rocket. With her star-power growing every day, she could highlight everything that people are missing with Milestone Comics and Icon and Rocket. Especially the newer version written by Reginald Hudlin.
