Ms. Marvel cast: Guide to the Disney+ show’s cast and characters

Here are the stars of Marvel Studios’ Ms. Marvel on Disney+ and where you can find them on social media and more.
Ms. Marvel will be a Marvel Studios show unlike any we’ve seen in the past. It’s going to be more family-oriented and uplifting than previous shows. Some of the others have been inspiring, but Ms. Marvel seems like it’ll be more so. The trailers prove that with the way Kamala’s friends and family talk to her. The animated speech bubbles help, too.
Ms. Marvel cast
Two things stick out with the Ms. Marvel cast. Many are Muslim. This is something that stays true to the Marvel comic book. The second is that they’re not all well-known performers. A lot of the cast will end up getting more movie and TV roles for being in a Marvel/Disney project. In fact, a good portion of the cast have upcoming projects. Here’s a little about the actors, the characters they’ll play, and where you can find them going forward.
Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan
You have to start with the star and hero of the show, Kamala Khan a.k.a. Ms. Marvel. She’s a girl with a love for superheroes, especially Carol Danvers (Captain Marvel). She’s going to do all of the heavy lifting on the show not just with her powers but with her acting, as well.
Where have you seen Vellani before?
This is Vellani’s first major TV role. However, she was featured in a video called “I don’t wanna b alone.”
What’s next?
The next thing for Vellani is The Marvels. A movie where Ms. Marvel will be side by side with her idol Captain Marvel (played by Brie Larson) and Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris). If this show does as well as this writer thinks it will, Vellani will get more offers than she’s ever imagined.

Zenobia Shroff as Muneeba Khan
Muneeba Khan is Kamala Khan’s mother. She has the tough job of being the mother of a teenage girl. Let’s also add that said teen is a superhero in secret. In the comic books, Muneeba Khan doesn’t know Kamala is Ms. Marvel. She may know in the Disney+ series since this is an alternate reality. Plus the bands where Kamala gets her powers are in her family.
Where have you seen her before? Shroff has been an actress since 1989 when she played Veera in Percy. She had a recurring role as Priya Ullah in The Affair and was Counselor Jerry in the Disney Pixar movie Soul.
What’s next? While she’s not credited, she’ll likely be in The Marvels as well. She is Kamala’s mother after all.

Mohan Kapur as Yusuf Khan
Yusuf Khan is Kamala’s father. He’ll be overprotective of his daughter, but he’ll be overly loving as well. Sometimes, you’ll think he’s worrying for nothing, then you’ll see that he’s just a worrying dad. He could end up being a memorable character in Ms. Marvel.
Where have you seen him before? Mohan Kapur’s career spans 30 years with over 70 acting credits. He had a recurring role in Only for Singles and Savitri Devi College & Hospital. A quick look at his IMDb will show many more movies and shows if you want to see other projects he’s been in. Warning, there’s a lot.
What’s next? Like Zenobia Shroff, it would be weird if Mohan Kapur wasn’t in The Marvels. Mohan Kapur also has an upcoming project called Alert 24X7 that was just completed. It’s scheduled to be released in 2023.

Matt Lintz as Bruno Carrelli
Matt Lintz will be playing the only one of Kamala’s friends that knows about her being Ms. Marvel. This crucial role comes with a lot of responsibility. Bruno has to be everything for Kamala. Her friend, a brotherly figure, and someone to wipe the blood off her face before she gets home. He also has to be there for her if, and when, her heart gets broken. Matt Lintz has his work cut out for him.
Where have you seen him before? Let’s start with something that he may be well known for. The best part is it’s a comic book show. He played Henry in The Walking Dead for eleven episodes. He was also in the movies Pixels and the show Sleepy Hollow.
What’s next? As of now, there doesn’t seem to be anything lined up for Matt Lintz. If he does well in Ms. Marvel, that could change. He could be in another Disney project since he’s already in a Marvel show. Don’t be shocked if a Star Wars role is in his future.

Saagar Shaikh as Aamir Khan
Aamir is Kamala’s older brother. In Marvel Comics, he has Inhuman DNA like his sister Kamala. Unlike her, he never became a hero. Nevertheless, he did do a heroic thing. Aamir helped fight off a villain and former friend of the Khan family named Kamran. It’ll be cool to see if he can use the bands and if they give him the same abilities as his sister.
Where have you seen him before? Shaikh started his acting career in 2012 in a short called Mudslingers. He went on to play recurring roles in shows like Just Giggle It and Unfair and Ugly. You can also see him in multiple shorts throughout his career.
What’s next? Unfortunately, there are no other roles for him as of yet. Like many of the other performers on this list, he will likely get pitches to him after Ms. Marvel debuts.

Yasmeen Fletcher as Nakia
Nakia Bahadir is one of Kamala’s friends. In Marvel Comics, she and Nakia go to the same Mosque. It’s likely that they’ll have met the same way. Whether or not they’ll have the same relationship remains to be seen. However, they look close in the trailers.
Where have you seen her before? Fletcher was in the Disney movie Upside-Down Magic and the TV series Andi Mack.
What’s next? The only project up for Fletcher is a short called What You Taught Me and it’s currently in post-production.

Rish Shah as Kamran
As this writer mentioned earlier, Kamran was once close to the Khans. When he was five, his family moved to Texas. He had the unfortunate luck of getting caught in the Terrigen mist when he moved back to New Jersey. After getting his abilities he tried to force Kamala to join him and Lineage.
Where have you seen him before? Shah was once in a show called Emmerdale Farm where he played Kirin Kotecha in five episodes. In 2021, he was in two movies–To All the Boys: Always and Forever and India Sweets and Spices.
What’s next? As of now, Shah has two projects coming up. The first is a series called Damage that’s still filming. The other is called Strangers (featuring Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner) and that’s in post-production.

Travina Springer as Tyesha Hillman
Tyesha Hillman and Aamir Khan met at Islamic Masjid of Jersey City. Aamir needed Kamala’s help facilitating their first real meeting. Eventually, he didn’t need Kamala. Amir and Tyesha got married soon after meeting. They even have a son named Malik Khan.
Where have you seen her before? Fans may remember Travina Springer from Clint Eastwood’s 2018 The Mule. She was in 7 episodes of the Paramount+ exclusive Strange Angel where she played Alice. She was also in Unfair & Ugly with her co-star Saagar Shaikh. It’s funny that they were in a series together and will be love interests in Ms. Marvel.
What’s next? Travina Springer doesn’t have any projects as of now. If there’s a season 2 of Ms. Marvel, she will probably be married to Aamir Khan.

Laurel Marsden as Zoe Zimmer
Zoe Zimmer started off in Marvel Comics being a bully. After being saved by Ms. Marvel, she changed her way of thinking. She even became friends with Nakia and Kamala which is something that’ll definitely happen towards the end of the season. She’ll most likely defend Kamala and Nakia from people picking on them. Probably while wearing a Ms. Marvel shirt.
Where have you seen her before? Marsden was only in one other project. She was in a TV series called Survive. In that series, she appeared in two episodes playing a character named Kara.
What’s next? Marsden has nothing lined up in the future. Since Ms. Marvel is her second project, this could lead to more acting roles.

Aramis Knight as Kareem, aka Red Dagger
Kareem defends people in Pakistan at night as Red Dagger. He eventually became an exchange student and lived with the Khans. Viewers will probably see Kareem’s past in a flashback when Red Dagger and Ms. Marvel meet while trying to stop a crime. That’s after the eventual miscommunication between the two and they fight.
Where have you seen him before? Knight was in multiple roles. Among them was the Disney show Girl Meets World, a couple of small roles in popular projects like the shows Psych and The Mentalist, the movie The Dark Knight Rises, and he played M.K. in 32 episodes of Into the Badlands. That’s only some of his 43 acting credits. He’s even been in General Hospital, a show that many actors would love to be on.
What’s next? In 2023, Knight will appear in a comedy horror called Baby Blue, a movie where Knight is billed second among a large cast.
