The wait for Stargirl season 3 will continue beyond the month of June as the beloved superhero drama won’t be returning to The CW this month.

The CW recently unveiled its schedule for the summer of 2022 which includes many scripted series, including originals and series acquired to help bridge the gap between spring and fall. While Stargirl has traditionally enjoyed summer releases, the series was glaringly missing from The CW’s summer slate and won’t be kicking off its third season this summer.

It seems like a major miss for the network as the series has been a perfect summer staple with audiences, pulling in strong numbers across the summer months. The show’s lighter teen vibes make it a perfect summer series and it’s been great having a CW superhero show to enjoy across the quieter months for scripted offerings.

Instead, it seems the network has other plans in place for the rollout of Stargirl season 3.

Stargirl season 3 release date updates

Although The CW has not yet announced an official release date for Stargirl season 3, the network has confirmed the new season will release as part of the network’s fall line-up.

This will mark the show’s first time moving to the fall and it will also be moving to a new night, as The CW has announced that season 3 will be making the move from Tuesday to Wednesday night. It has also been confirmed the series will air in the 8 pm ET timeslot as the lead-in for the new season of Kung Fu.

Considering The CW typically does not begin its fall schedules until October, it looks like fans are going to be in for a long wait this offseason.
