2. Soldier Boy returns

After taking care of Little Nina’s problem, it was time for The Boys to get their weapon. As predicted, things didn’t go smoothly. It forced Butcher to show his team that he has powers. It also shows that Hughie took some of the drugs and got powers too. Powers he used to kill a Russian guard.

Once the dust settled, Butcher opened up a giant metal structure. Instead of a weapon, Soldier Boys walks out. Not only that, he unleashes a beam from his chest that sends Kimiko flying through multiple walls. The problem is she doesn’t heal from the attack like she normally would. Soldier Boy escapes and Kimiko’s fate is up in the air.

1. Homelander

Now we come to the biggest takeaway from this episode. Homelander becoming the scariest comic book character on TV. There are multiple comic book heroes and villains that can defeat him. Some of them could do it before he could blink. Nevertheless, that’s only part of what makes him powerful. As Stan Edgar told Starlight in episode 1, real power doesn’t come from abilities.

Homelander is manipulating the media to make him look like a perfect person and god. Sadly, it’s working. In actuality, he’s a deplorable, racist bully with no morals. Soon, he’ll have the backing of other supes. Some of them will do it out of fear. The ones to worry about are the followers who truly believe in what he’s saying. When that happens, he won’t need the public. He’ll have the backing of heroes all over the country.
