The Mandalorian season 3 is not coming to Disney Plus in 2022

Don’t be expecting The Mandalorian season 3 to arrive on Disney Plus this year.

Star Wars fans are getting treated by Disney Plus. The streaming service has kicked off an exciting new chapter in the franchise through various TV shows set in that galaxy far, far away.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is the most recent offering to premiere on the service, bringing back Ewan McGregor’s beloved Jedi for another outing. After that, we’ll see the likes of Ahsoka, Andor, The Acolyte and, of course, a new season of The Mandalorian.

Fans have been waiting quite some time for The Mandalorian season 3, and unfortunately, the wait is set to continue. Disney Plus has just confirmed that the Pedro Pascal-led Star Wars spin-off will not be premiering on the service this year.

The good news is that this announcement also revealed when it will arrive.

The Mandalorian season 3 release date predictions

The Mandalorian season 3 will premiere on Disney Plus in February 2023. The announcement came during the Star Wars Celebration event, as the official Star Wars account tweeted out the date, confirming that Mando and Grogu would return next year.

This may be disappointing for fans as the show has not aired any new episodes since the end of 2020, so many were hoping that it would make its presence felt in the second half of 2021 or sometime in 2022. Now that filming of the third season has been completed, a fall 2022 release seemed likely. For whatever reason, though, the show now moves out of its Christmastime slot to February next year.

The best thing about the 2023 release date is that it removes any uncertainty about when the show will return and gives fans a definitive release window to look forward to.
