4. Billy Butcher’s mission isn’t about Becca

Butcher and Punisher have a lot in common and it goes further than just their unending war and incredible war-like planning. They both used the death of their loved ones to fuel their need for violence. Once Butcher murdered the person who killed his wife, he didn’t stop. He decided that every supe needed to be killed. A mission that showed that Butcher is just as bad as the supes he hated.

3. Billy Butcher’s final mission

When someone has a vendetta, they go all in. For Butcher, it seemed like it was all about Homelander (who we later find out didn’t kill Becca). After that, Butcher looked to the sky to talk to his deceased wife and said, “That ain’t what you would have wanted.” He ended his talk with her saying, “An’ what I’m gonna do next, you’d hate that most of all.” What Butcher was talking about was killing anyone with Compound V. A mission he’d plan on doing for years.

Butcher felt like he needed to rid the world of anyone with Compound V in their body. That meant even people who didn’t know it existed in them. Adults, children, and even babies would be killed and not know why. That also included his friends with powers as well.
