MCU star Sebastian Stan has been everyone’s choice for a young Luke Skywalker. This incredible new video featuring him in the Star Wars role highlights why.

Fans just can’t get enough of the thought of Sebastian Stan as Luke Skywalker. The movie and TV star has enjoyed a very successful career on both mediums, with his most high-profile role coming from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And yet, fans want him to play Luke in a Star Wars property.

Stan portrays Bucky Barnes a.k.a. the Winter Soldier in the MCU, appearing in all three Captain America movies The First Avenger, The Winter Soldier and Civil War, as well as Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. He then co-headlined the recent Disney Plus series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier with Anthony Mackie.

Stan’s return to the MCU is inevitable (though it hasn’t been confirmed when he will surface again) but that hasn’t stopped fans from requesting that he make an appearance in another universally-adored franchise. Yes, they have been craving his portrayal of Luke Skywalker for a long time. And when you’re craving something that long, some fans might bring it to life via their own talents.

That’s exactly what happens in this incredible video as YouTube user StryderHD gives us all a chance to see what Sebastian Stan could look like as Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars franchise.

Sebastian Stan becomes Luke Skywalker in Star Wars fan video

YouTube user StryderHD gives fans an opportunity to see what Sebastian Stan could look like if he were to play Luke Skywalker in a Star Wars movie or TV series prequel.

Using footage from the 2017 video game Star Wars Battlefront 2, the creator uses DeepFake technology to place Stan’s likeness over the top of that game footage and give us a glimpse of how the Marvel star could potentially look in the role.

Is Sebastian Stan playing Luke Skywalker in The Mandalorian?

Back when The Mandalorian season 3 commenced filming, rumors began to do the rounds once again suggesting that Stan will appear in either it or a separate Luke Skywalker Star Wars prequel movie/series, but those rumors were not true. Not right now, at least.

It goes without saying that a lot of fans want this to happen given how the MCU star resembles a young Mark Hamill. In fact, even Hamill himself acknowledged their similarities in the past.

Whether or not Stan ever wields a lightsaber remains to be seen, but it would be a major missed opportunity if Lucasfilm didn’t make it happen at some point down the line.
