2. Is Captain Marvel dead?

In Doctor Strange 2 on Earth-838 of the MCU, Carol Danvers wasn’t Captain Marvel. The mantle was instead held by Maria Rambeau. In this universe, something as simple as switching spots with Carol caused Maria to become Captain Marvel. Fans don’t know what else changed besides her becoming a member of the Illuminati. One thing we do know is that she seems just as powerful as Captain Marvel from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Because of that power, it’s doubtful that she was killed by a falling statue.

Captain Marvel has flown all over the universe and fought beings that have powers far beyond anything some people can comprehend. Like viewers may have seen in Avengers: Endgame, Captain Marvel can take a head-butt from Thanos. That’s certainly stronger than a falling statue. No way she’s dead, right? It’s weird that there wasn’t a mid-credit scene with her popping up from under the statue.

When this Maria Rambeau returns, she would likely want revenge. Not just because the Scarlet Witch tried to kill her, but for what she did to her friends and teammates. Maria is going to wake up and see the Illuminati dead. She’ll be filled with rage and nothing is going to stop her from avenging their deaths. This writer believes we haven’t seen the last of Maria Rambeau’s Captain Marvel.
