Daryl Dixon has always been a fan favorite character in The Walking Dead but does he make it out of the long-running zombie drama alive?
The Walking Dead has given us some of the most popular characters in TV history across its decade-plus-long run. If you had to rank the most popular characters though, there is a strong chance that Daryl Dixon would find himself at the top spot. If anything, he would definitely be in the top three.
Daryl is portrayed by Norman Reedus and he was first introduced in the show’s third ever episode “Tell It To The Frogs”. The angry brother of the wayward Merle, he was something of an antagonistic character early on, but eventually became an ally to Rick Grimes and the central group of characters – and he quickly found his way into the hearts of fans as a result.
Concluding its run with 11 seasons, The Walking Dead has been around for a long time, and during that time the show has killed off many of its characters. In fact, it’s one of the few shows were no one is safe, as viewers found out when some major characters met their untimely – and unexpected – demise.

Does Daryl survive in The Walking Dead?
Daryl Dixon is a fixture of The Walking Dead; not just in the show’s early days but throughout the entirety of its run. Not only does he survive The Walking Dead, he outlasts the show’s main character Rick Grimes (after actor Andrew Lincoln departed the show in season 9) to become one of its two central protagonists.
With the final season airing on screens last year, there was the concern among fans that he may be killed off before the series finale ended, but no matter how convicnig any dicey situations Daryl ended up in were, it was clear that he was never going to die on the show. Why? Well, because his story is continuing in The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon.
Norman Reedus is set to star in the one of the show’s upcoming spin-off series, meaning that Daryl Dixon’s adventures in the TWD Universe will indeed continue past The Walking Dead season 11 and its final episode.
