Loki season 2 is not coming to Disney Plus in July 2022
The show was one of Disney Plus’ biggest success stories of 2021, but Loki season 2 will not be arriving in July 2022.
It looks like it’s set to be some time before the God of Mischief resurfaces in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
After years of being a show-stealing supporting star across the MCU in various movies, particularly the Thor franchise, Tom Hiddleston got the chance to shine in a greater capacity in Disney Plus‘ Loki.
Centering on the version of the trickster that made his way into the timeline with the Tesseract, Loki expanded on the MCU’s time travel mythology, introduced the Time Variance Authority and set the stage for the next earth-shattering (or multiverse-shattering) stage of Marvel Studios’ shared universe of superheroes.
The series will return for a second season sometime in the future, but we don’t quite know when. One thing we do know, however, is that it won’t be gracing Disney Plus with its presence next month.
Loki season 2 release date predictions
Filming for Loki season 2 commenced in June at Pinewood Studios in the UK. With that in mind, it means that we’ll likely see the second season hit Disney Plus sometime in 2023.
The summer production is earlier than many initially expected, as Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige revealed to Collider last year that shooting of the project might not commence until sometime in 2022 or even 2023.
The first season concluded in July 2021, and it was immediately followed by the announcement that the show would return for another outing in the future. As for when fans can expect it, the more news that comes out about it, the more that a release date of 2023 seems likely.
