The Flash season 9 release updates: When is season 9 coming out?
The Flash season 9 will speed its way onto The CW in the future. When can fans tune into the show’s ninth season?
The Flash‘s eighth season was an intense year for Barry Allen and Team Flash. Let’s face it, though, every year is an intense one for anyone living in Central City.
From the return of the Reverse-Flash to the arrival of the Negative Forces, things were turned on their head once again for the heroes of the Arrowverse‘s longest running show – and that’s not even taking Iris West-Allen’s Time Sickness and the death of a longtime Team Flash friend into account.
Season 8 concludes with an epic battle between the Flash Family and the Negative Forces and Reverse-Flash. A battle for the ages, no doubt, but it won’t be the last we’ll see of the Scarlet Speedster as the show was renewed for a ninth season earlier this year.
When will it arrive on The CW?
The Flash season 9 release date predictions
The Flash season 9 will premiere on The CW in 2023. The network announced its line-up for the fall schedule at its May Upfronts ceremony, confirming that the show wouldn’t air new episodes in the fall for only the second time in its whole run.
As for when exactly it will premiere next year, the most likely options are February or March 2023. The CW often kicks off its midseason shows around then, meaning that The Flash season 9 will likely air until the summer months.
While it’s unknown if season 9 will be its last, there are rumors of a shortened episode-count, with 15 episodes reportedly being a strong possibility. Whether that happens or not remains to be seen.
Update: The Flash season 9 premieres on The CW on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at 8/7c. It will be the beginning of the final season.
