The Bat and Cat get married

Batman and Catwoman have the biggest “will they, won’t they” relationship in comics. Friends‘ Ross and Rachel have nothing on them. You can debate whether or not they met on a boat or on the street, but Batman and Catwoman have been chasing each other ever since. Tom King took it to another level in his iconic Batman run. They may not have gotten married in that particular series, but they did solidify their love.

After Batman, Tom King went on to write Batman/Catwoman. A twelve part maxi-series that started after Bruce Wayne died. It continued on to tell Selina Kyle’s story. She killed The Joker, got arrested, and got away with it. But, more importantly, fans got to see the actual wedding of Batman and Catwoman.

Why is this important?

This may not be important when it comes to the future of comic books. Batman and Catwoman could never get together and this is just an alternate reality. Nevertheless, it’s great for fans of The Bat and The Cat.

It was perfect. They eloped in Gotham and were given away by a Batman impersonator. Lois Lane and Superman flew in at the last minute in a hilarious scene and they finally tied the knot. So, even if it never happens in continuity, we’ll always have this.
