Was Thor: Love and Thunder Chris Hemsworth’s final Marvel movie or will Hemsworth return to play the God of Thunder again in the MCU?
It’s crazy to think that Thor: Love and Thunder was the 29th Marvel Cinematic Universe film or that it’s been over a decade since the MCU first launched. While the MCU continues to push ahead with new films and new characters joining the mix, the MCU of today looks quite different from the MCU of the early years.
In recent years, many of the actors who were involved in the early days of the MCU have left the MCU behind in their rearview mirror by bringing their character’s storylines to a natural end.
Of the six original Avengers actors, only three remain active in the current MCU: Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner and Chris Hemsworth. And with each new project in which the trio appears comes more questions about whether the project will be their last.
With the release of Thor: Love and Thunder on July 8, fans have understandably become concerned over whether the fourth film in the Thor franchise will be Hemsworth’s final appearance as Thor. So have we truly seen the last of the God of Thunder?
Will Chris Hemsworth play Thor again in the MCU?
Although it remains unclear what movie or series Chris Hemsworth will appear in next, Marvel has confirmed Hemsworth will return as Thor and that Thor: Love and Thunder was not his final Marvel project.
Following the film’s final credits and post-credit scene, Marvel confirmed Hemsworth’s future by revealing that Thor will return. While it was a simple line of text, it spoke volumes in assuring fans have not seen the last of the God of Thunder as he will return for another season.
Whether that ends up being a fifth Thor film, another Marvel movie or even an appearance in a Marvel series such as Loki season 2, we’re just relieved to know Thor: Love and Thunder was not Hemsworth’s last MCU project!
