Thor: Love and Thunder features many beloved characters, but does Korg make it out of the battle with Gorr the God Butcher alive? Does he survive Thor 4?

Thor: Ragnarok was one of the most successful movies in the whole of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Reinventing the God of Thunder’s franchise, it brought more color, more fun and more characters to the story. And one new arrival responsible for all three of those things was Korg.

Portrayed by the film’s director, Taika Waititi, he quickly became a fan-favorite character, with his hilarious lines of dialogue and lovable personality making him one of the movie’s best parts. With that in mind, it’s only fitting that he returned in sequel Thor: Love and Thunder.

The fourth film in the franchise, it sees Chris Hemsworth’s Thor and the heroes go up against the deadly Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), but does Korg survive the showdown? Let’s find out what happens to him in the film.

Does Korg die in Thor 4?

For a terrifying moment, it actually does look like Korg dies in Thor: Love and Thunder. The beloved character is wounded by Zeus, the God of Lightning, after his body is pierced by the Thunderbolt, which slowly dislodged all of the rocks that held him together.

After the emotional moment was over, though, audiences quickly discovered that Korg was still alive, because it turns out that all he needs to survive is his face/head. And Valkyrie protected him for the remainder of the film, refusing to allow harm to come to him.

In the end, Korg found himself a new body, a new man and was in the process of starting a beautiful Korg family. And honestly, yes.
