Upcoming Marvel movies: See what’s coming in Phase Four, Five and beyond
Upcoming Marvel movies (without a release date)
Fantastic Four
Expected to be the last movie of Phase Four, Fantastic Four will finally bring Marvel’s first family to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Very little is known about the film at this stage (even the casting) but Spider-Man: Homecoming director Jon Watts was attached to it until he decided to step down to take a break from superhero movies.
Blade
Blade is a little bit further on in its casting department than Fantastic Four (even if it’s not very likely to be coming as soon) as it already has its lead star cast.
Mahershala Ali announced his involvement as the titular character at San Diego Comic-Con 2019, and even though all has been quiet on the Blade front since, it goes without saying that fans are very excited to see Marvel tackle vampires in the near future.
Captain America 4
The first Captain America movie not to feature Chris Evans in the title role, it will see Anthony Mackie reprise his role as Sam Wilson. It has also been confirmed that Julius Onah will direct the film.
A direct sequel to Disney Plus series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, it is expected to explore Sam’s early days as the next Captain America, and fans are incredibly excited to see him in action.
Deadpool 3
Ryan Reynolds’ quick-witted and fast-talking (and darn right invincible) “Merc With A Mouth” finds a new home in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Perhaps the biggest success stories in Fox’s X-Men universe, the Deadpool franchise is seemingly set to outlast its parent film series, as the Disney/Fox merger brought all of those properties back to Marvel Studios. And even though there are rumors of an X-Men reboot on the horizon, the Deadpool we already know and love will be back on our screens in a third outing – one that could very well be the MCU’s first rated R project.
Shang-Chi 2
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings was one of the MCU’s most important movies. An incredible step forward for diversity and representation on-screen, it introduced audiences to Simu Liu’s hero in what might just have been Marvel’s best origin story film to date.
Its success set the stage for a sequel, and that’s exactly what we’re going to get in the future. We don’t know anything about when it will arrive yet, but it’s clear that Marvel has big plans for this hero and we would love to see him appear in other Marvel movies too.
Spider-Man 4
Spider-Man: No Way Home may have been the final chapter of the Homecoming trilogy, but it was also one of the most successful movies of all time. That in itself set the stage for a fourth movie, and it appears that’s exactly what is coming. In fact, a new trilogy is reportedly on the way, with Tom Holland set to return.
How Peter Parker’s story will continue after the ending of No Way Home remains to be seen, but it goes without saying that a fourth Spider-Man movie has the potential to be, well, one of the biggest movies of all time. And we can’t wait to see how it turns out!
