Superman and Lois season 2 has entertained US fans and now it will fly over to the UK to entertain fans on BBC One. When does it premiere?

Superman and Lois is one of the most beloved comic book shows on TV today. The Arrowverse offshoot premiered back in February 2022 in the US, earning critical acclaim for its mature storytelling, cinematic camerawork and incredible performances. It returned for its second season Stateside earlier this year, which also received rave reviews.

The show’s success in the US made its arrival around the world inevitable. UK audiences had to wait quite some time for the first season, though, as it didn’t debut until fall 2022. Airing on BBC One on Saturday nights before Strictly Come Dancing, it thrilled fans in the United Kingdom, many of whom remembered watching Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman back in the ’90s in that same slot.

It was also a huge ratings hit, with its premiere episode drawing 2.7 million viewers – that’s one million more than its US premiere!

Now that the first season has been finished on BBC One for some time, when does Superman and Lois season 2 premiere in the UK? Well, thankfully, we actually do have a release date.

Superman and Lois season 2 UK release date

Superman and Lois season 2 premieres in the UK on Saturday, July 16, at 5:25 p.m. BST and 6:05 p.m. BST on BBC One. Yes, that means the show will have a double debut, with both its season premiere “What Lies Beneath” and sophomore episode “The Ties That Bind” airing back-to-back.

It’s unclear if two episodes will air every week or just for the first week, and it’s also unclear if the whole season will be uploaded to the iPlayer (like season 1 was) at this point in time.

Regardless, it’s incredibly exciting that fans in the UK won’t have to wait as long as they did for season 1. To give you an idea of how much shorter the wait is, Superman and Lois season 2 just wrapped its run with its epic season finale airing on The CW in the US at the end of June!
