4. Kamran learns the truth

As expected, Kamran found out that his mother died and he was justifiably upset. This is on top of getting powers he can’t control, being chased by Damage Control, and being a 17 year old kid. Thankfully, he had Kamala to help him through this tough time. Without her, things would have gone differently.

When Kamran was about to unleash his powers, Kamala stopped him. She reminded Kamran that he could be better than they are. Her compassion not only saved the lives of people in the area, it helped show everyone that people with powers aren’t always a threat. Kamala’s compassion was a constant in the show. This writer is happy that it remained that way from start to finish.

3. Ms. Marvel

One of the episode’s closing scenes (before the mid and end-credit scenes) was a sentimental moment between Kamala and her father. He asks her if she had a superhero name. Kamala said she was still working on it. That’s when Yusuf explained the meaning of Kamala’s name. In Arabic, her name means “perfect”. In Urdu, it’s more like “wonder” or “marvel”. To her mother and father, Kamala was their own Ms. Marvel.

This may not seem like an important moment, but it must be mentioned. Now, both of Kamala’s parents are a part of her being a superhero. Her mother gave her the costume and her father her name. A sweet thing that Kamala will always take with her.
