On July 23, Marvel Studios made its triumphant return to San Diego Comic-Con‘s Hall H with a panel that broke the internet and delivered some of the biggest announcements from the five-day event.
Heading into the Marvel Hall H panel, all eyes were on Marvel President Kevin Feige who was set to once again take to the stage to showcase the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe movies and films. Of course, Feige wasn’t alone as he was joined by some of the biggest names in Marvel to help introduce the upcoming slate of projects in development.
From first looks at upcoming projects to a wave of announcements about what’s ahead for the MCU, the Marvel Hall H panel featured several truly stunning and jaw-dropping reveals!
Marvel SDCC panel recap (2022) – Every Marvel Hall H reveal
Across the Marvel SDCC panel, Marvel Studios revealed its Phase 4 slate which is filled with amazing new shows and movies — including a mix of previously announced titled and surprising new additions.
The panel was packed with announcements that left fans reeling including the first Black Panther: Wakanda Forever trailer and the unveiling of new titles coming soon to Disney Plus and theaters. Below we break down every key announcement made during the Marvel Hall H panel!
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania Comic-Con poster
Ahead of the Marvel Hall H panel, Marvel artist Andy Park took to social media to provide fans with their first look at the poster for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. In the visually stunning new poster, fans get their first look at Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man and Evangeline Lilly’s Wasp teaming up with Kathryn Newton’s Cassie Lang — who suits up for the first time in the new poster!
Marvel SDCC panel begins with sizzle reel narrated by Stan Lee
Before the action kicked off, Marvel led with a major sizzle reel promoting the Marvel Cinematic Universe which was fittingly narrated by Stan Lee.
Kevin Feige welcomes Marvel fans back to Hall H
Kicking the Marvel Hall H panel off is the mastermind behind the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Kevin Feige who welcomed fans back after three long years. An emotional Feige confessed to being “unbelievably excited” by a return to Hall H after questioning whether he’d ever be back in Hall H again.
What is the final movie in Phase 4 of the MCU?
After 14 new series and movies, Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will come to a close with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever which will serve as the final film in the studios’ fourth phase.
Daredevil: Born Again release date and episode count
It’s official, Daredevil is returning to the MCU! As announced at Marvel’s Hall H panel, Daredevil will return in Daredevil: Born Again, a new MCU series coming to Disney Plus in 2024. The new series will feature the returns of Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, respectively.
While an exact release date has not been set, Marvel has confirmed the new series will consist of an impressive 18 episodes — making it the biggest Marvel Disney Plus series yet.
Every Marvel movie and shows announced at SDCC 2022
As Phase 4 comes to a close, Marvel has confirmed Phase 5 will consist of 12 new shows and movies set to release across 2023 and 2024. From new seasons of Disney Plus series to new films, here the complete breakdown of Marvel’s Phase 5 projects:

In addition to announcing the upcoming Phase 5 titles, Marvel also Phase 6 will consist of eleven titles which will include the following three confirmed films:

- Avengers: Secret Wars – Nov. 7, 2025
She-Hulk SDCC trailer and poster
As expected, the Marvel Hall H panel featured the debut of a brand new trailer for She-Hulk which arrives Aug. 17 on Disney Plus. The new footage offers up an extended look at the upcoming series and teased the return of Charlie Cox as Daredevil.

Cobie Smulders to return as Maria Hill in Secret Invasion
If there was any doubt regarding her involvement in Secret Invasion, the Marvel SDCC Comic-Con panel confirmed Cobie Smulders will reprise her role as Maria Hill in the upcoming series which she described as an exciting thriller.
"“This is a darker show and we’re going to get deeper into the characters, and see them in new ways. It’s going to be an exciting thriller and you’re never going to know who people are: are they a Skrull, are they human? It’s going to be a bit of a guessing game.”"
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania cast appear at SDCC
Kicking off Phase 5 will be Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, so it’s only fitting the cast and director took to the Hall H stage to help introduce the film! After making his way to the stage, director Peyton Reed welcomed Kathryn Newton, who will be playing an older version of Cassie Lang; Evangeline Lilly, who will reprise her role as Hope van Dymn; and Paul Rudd, who is once again suiting up as Scott Lang!
Of course, the fun didn’t stop there! Joining the cast on stage is the film’s villain Jonathan Majors, who is set to star as Kang the Conquerer in the upcoming third installment of the Ant-Man franchise.
MODOK to make live-action Marvel debut in Ant-Man 3
It appears Kang the Conquerer won’t be the only Marvel villain to pop up in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania! As announced at the Marvel Hall H SDCC panel, the third film in the Ant-Man franchise will feature the live-action MCU debut of MODOK.
James Gunn confirms Guardians of the Galaxy is the final installment in trilogy
Making his return to Hall H, James Gunn arrived to preview the upcoming third Guardians of the Galaxy film which Gunn confirmed will bring an end to the franchise’s story. Of course, the phrasing of Gunn’s remarks does leave the door open for the characters to return beyond a third film — noting that “this is the end of that story” i.e. the story he began in the first film.
James Gunn introduces Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 cast
After confirming Guardians of the Galaxy will be the final installment in his Guardians trilogy, James Gunn welcomed several members of the cast to the stage. Among those in attendance were Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Sean Gunn (Kraglin), Will Poulter (Adam Warlock) and Maria Bakalova (Cosmo the Space Dog).
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 trailer brings tears to the cast’s eyes
In a surprise twist, the Marvel Hall H panel brought with it the first trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 which was screened for those in attendance for the first time. Upon seeing the footage for the first time, the cast got emotional reflecting upon their journeys in the franchise after viewing the powerful trailer.
"“We’re all kind of having a moment to ourselves back there. It’s very beautiful, it’s very moving and we’re so excited to do this movie with you,” Pratt said in an emotional thank you to James Gunn."
Will Poulter reflects on joining the MCU
Among the new faces taking to the stage during the Marvel Hall H panel was Will Poulter, who has joined the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 cast in the role of Adam Warlock. While he didn’t tease much about the character, Poulter was genuinely appreciative of the opportunity to join the MCU and thanked the cast for welcoming him with open arms.
"“I’m truly, truly grateful [to be playing Adam Warlock]. It’s pretty surreal to have ever even stepped on the Guardians set. I’m a huge admirer of everybody on this stage and the franchise from the outside looking in. I was absolutely terrified, but I was kind of welcomed into the family and couldn’t have been treated better by these folks. They’re all such wonderful people, every bit as nice as they are talented. I’m also really grateful there was an appetite for Adam from the fans. James and Kevin and everyone at Marvel gave me an opportunity and I’m super, super grateful to be here.”"
Who will be the villain in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3?
While it remains to be seen how many villains might pop up in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, it was confirmed at the Marvel Studios SDCC panel that Chukwudi Iwuji has joined the cast as High Evolutionary — making an appearance in character at the panel to help announce the news to fans.
Fantastic Four Marvel release date
Although the cast for the film has yet to be confirmed, Marvel Studios announced during its 2022 San Diego Comic-Con Hall H panel that its upcoming Fantastic Four film will hit theaters on Nov. 8, 2024. It’s likely we could receive additional information at D-23 this September, but it does appear the film’s release will put it in Phase 6 of the MCU.
Marvel confirms Phase 4, 5 and 6 are The Multiverse Saga
Fans who have been wondering what the latest chapter of the MCU will be referred to finally received an answer during the Marvel Hall H panel when Marvel confirmed Phase 4, 5 and 6 have been dubbed The Multiverse Saga.
Ryan Coogler honors Chadwick Boseman at Marvel Hall H panel
Heading into the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever portion of the panel, fans knew it would be impossible not to address the absence of the late Chadwick Boseman. Boseman’s presence was felt by all those in attendance, including director Ryan Coogler who shared an emotional tribute to Boseman at the panel’s start.
"“Five years ago, I sat about right there and we premiered the first footage from Black Panther. Sitting next to me, right to my left, was our T’Challa: the late great Chadwick Boseman. The cast, including Chad, hadn’t seen the footage yet. When we played it, he was excited and he grabbed my left shoulder with his hand… He was getting excited as the clip went on and on, and he was squeezing down on my shoulder and when it went off he was like, ‘That was amazing, congratulations.’ and I couldn’t even lift my arm. I felt his hand for a few hours and for the rest of the day. Standing here with y’all right now, listening to that music from those artists, thinking about it all, I promise you I can feel his hand on me right now.”"
Winston Duke calls Black Panther: Wakanda Forever a ‘labor of love’
Among those returning for the upcoming Black Panther is M’Baku actor Winston Duke, who took to the stage alongside his fellow cast members to discuss the upcoming film. In expressing his sincerest gratitude to all those involved in the film, Duke proudly called the upcoming sequel a labor of love.
"“I am just filled with so much gratitude to be here with everyone. I’m filled with so much gratitude to be here with my chosen family. To be standing with a project that came from so much love. Every single day on set, from every single participant behind the camera, in front of the camera with the words, with everything. It’s a labor of love. I have so much gratitude to be able to be a part of it and share it with all of you.”"
Tenoch Huerta confirmed as Namor in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
After months of speculation over the introduction of Namor in the MCU, the Marvel Hall H panel confirmed that the iconic character will make his live-action debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever with actor Tenoch Huerta tapped to play the role.
Joining the cast on stage, Huerta delivered an emotional speech noting that if it wasn’t for inclusion he wouldn’t be on the Hall H stage.

As anticipated, Marvel used its Hall H panel to drop the first official trailer from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever which provided viewers with a look at what’s to come in the highly anticipated sequel including our first glimpse of Tenoch Huerta’s Namor. Watch the trailer below!
