Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is almost upon us but very little remains known about the plot. Just who is playing the villain in the film?

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is about to release its 30th movie. The film franchise has already released two cinematic installments this year, with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Thor: Love and Thunder entertaining audiences earlier in 2022. The next one will be Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Released this November, the film will pay tribute to the late, great star of the first film, Chadwick Boseman, who sadly passed away at the age of 43 in 2020. It won’t be recasting his character, as Black Panther 2 will find a way to honor King T’Challa and carry on his legacy as the titular hero.

Right now, the plot of the movie remains a mystery, and that even extends to its villain, with little being confirmed about who its antagonist is. That said, there are rumors, and they might be able to provide fans with answers.

Is Namor the villain of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever?

Namor is rumored to be the villain of Black Panther 2. The character, whose full name is Namor McKenzie, is also known as the Sub-Mariner and is the ruler of Atlantis in Marvel Comics.

Atlantis is reportedly going to have something of a big role in the upcoming sequel, and that means its ruler will likely be involved. Moreover, actor Tenoch Huerta was cast in the role of an undisclosed villain, and subsequent rumors suggest that he will be the one bringing Namor to life – something that recently released Marvel promotional art has seemingly confirmed.

Whether Namor is the main villain of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever or not remains to be seen, but it does seem like he will appear and could play something of a significant role.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is released in movie theaters on November 11, 2022.
