Black Panther: Wakanda Forever gave fans their first look at Prince of Atlantis, Namor as Wakanda’s enemy. A history that started in the comics.

The Black Panther: Wakanda Forever trailer brought a lot of viewers to tears. Fans knew that Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa would receive a beautiful sendoff in Wakanda Forever. They’d expect nothing less from Ryan Coogler. That was only in the trailer. There is no doubt that the movie itself will be full of emotional moments.

Another aspect of the trailer that got fans talking was Namor. Fans finally got to see Tenoch Huerta as the Prince of Atlantis. Namor was teased in Avengers: Endgame, but Okoye passed it off as an earthquake in the ocean. Marvel Comics enthusiasts knew it was Namor and that he was on his way to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

For those of you who don’t know about him, here is a simple guide to who Namor McKenzie is and why him being the newest MCU villain in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever makes sense.

Who is Namor?

Namor is one of the longest-standing characters in Marvel Comics. The Submariner has been around since 1939. Soon after his appearance in a giveaway comic, he joined Captain America, Toro, Human Torch, Miss America, and the Whizzer as a member of the Invaders. Together, they helped win battles during World War II. Since then, he’s been the ruler of Atlantis (off and on), an Avenger, member of the Illuminati, a Defender, X-Man, and so much more. This writer fully expects the Submariner to be all over the MCU as well. Nevertheless, it all starts with Black Panther: Wakanda: Forever.
