Black Panther: What Namor means to Wakanda and T’Challa
By Mark Lynch
Secret Wars
After the incursion took place, all bets were off (Secret Wars 2015). T’Challa, the Fantastic Four and others attempted to save some people in hopes of repopulating or saving reality. Unfortunately, they failed. Thankfully for everyone, Doctor Doom didn’t.
Victor von Doom recreated the universe in his image. He made everyone forget their previous worlds. He wasn’t just Victor von Doom, he was God to everyone and his word was law. This didn’t sit right with any of the heroes. Once again, The Submariner and King of the Dead were forced to team-up. They put their differences aside and helped save the multiverse.
In conclusion…
As you can see, the relationship between T’Challa and Namor had a lot of ups and downs. Even when things were at their worst, T’Challa respected Namor’s ability and power. He knew what he was capable of and never underestimated him. For all of the Submariners’ arrogance, he did the same for Black Panther. Regardless of that respect, T’Challa will never forgive or forget everything he did to Wakanda. The two fought during Jason Aaron’s Avengers. Recently, in that series, Namor asked for forgiveness. Naturally, T’Challa rejected it. This writer expects the two to be at each other’s throat as long as they live.
