Riverdale season 7 will be the show’s final chapter but when will it premiere on screens for fans to enjoy?

Riverdale has been a staple of The CW’s programming since 2017. The absolutely bonkers drama based on the Archie Comics has bewildered, shocked and amazed fans on the network in the US and reached an even wider audience through its presence on Netflix worldwide.

The show has wrapped its sixth season, and to say that it has been the most crazy adventure yet would be a huge understatement. Opening with a “five-episode-event” set in an alternate dimension called Rivervale, the show would then go on to reveal that Archie Andrews, Jughead Jones, Betty Cooper, Veronica Lodge, Tabitha Tate, and Cheryl Blossom had all developed superpowers. Yes, superpowers.

The gang’s rivalry with the dastardly Percival Pickens set the stage for a dramatic season finale in which a comet threatened to wipe out Riverdale. And that, in and of itself, has set the stage for a very intriguing seventh season. Speaking of which, when does Riverdale season 7 premiere?

Riverdale season 7 release date predictions

Riverdale season 7 is set to premiere on The CW in 2023. The show was renewed for a seventh season back in March (along with a lucky few) just a few months before the network axed half of its line-up. However, it was subsequently revealed that it would not be part of the network’s fall schedule as it was being held until 2023.

As for when it could premiere, the most likely options are February or March. That’s when The CW would normally kick off their midseason shows.

However, as Riverdale season 7 is the show’s final season, don’t be too surprised if they decide to hold it a little longer and air it closer to the summer.

Those are just predictions, though, so it’s best to wait for an official announcement from The CW.
