A recent closer look at Jameela Jamil as Titania has dropped, having been shared by the actress herself. What is going on in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law?

With the upcoming eighth outing of the web-television series’ and the thirteenth installment within Phase Four of the MCU, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, about to drop on the Disney Plus streaming service in less than three weeks, a recent image of the show’s Big Bad has been released by Jameela Jamil.

The fan backlash and critiques over She-Hulk VFX

Back in May, fans began criticizing the She-Hulk design displayed in the first official trailer following its release. Many comic book-related and mainstream pop culture media outlets such as the Mary Sue, The Ringer, and Digital Spy each had their fair share of points to make the CGI design model of She-Hulk, including ourselves at Bam Smack Pow.

Despite the back and forth between the show’s head writer/executive producer, Jessica Gao, one of the series directors, Kat Coiro, and one of the VFX artists in the creative team, those VFX elements were improved before too many gamma levels rose and became heated. When stills were leaked of her image on Twitter, Jameela was the only one who got behind the fire, especially in response to the backlash of the VFX.

Stills and portrayal of Jameela Jamil as Titania

For a number of years, I cannot tell you how many times I have witnessed leaks of film and television productions on a set depicting characters adapted from comic books or manga. Often times these stills that were leaked or footage that was captured showed a lousy representation of the character an actor is portraying. Whether it be wire-work, screen tests of costumes, or barely air-brushed photography taken from an amateur, something is gonna give eventually.

In response to fan backlash, The Good Place star posted a provocative image of a closer look of herself as Titania on Twitter with the outcry:  “TITANIA IS COMING TO F*** UP YOUR DAY!” She has a better, complimenting wig and a fierce, eye-catching, and pensive look. Acknowledging the kickback, Jameela stood up to it in a positive manner.

"“It’s just a wig. I love the [Marvel Cinematic Universe]. I love the fan base. I respect them, and I was rarely making sure that they knew that I was with them. I was reassuring them. I’m on their side. And so I never mind any criticism or feedback.”"

Titania is rumored to have a different, fairly straightforward, and acceptable origin story. Even the female lead’s origin portrayed by Tatiana Maslany has slightly taken a different turn compared to the source material, as teased by the most recent trailer that dropped on July 23, 2022, at the San Diego Comic-Con.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law stars Tatiana Maslany, Mark Ruffalo, Tim Roth, Ginger Gonzaga, Josh Segarra, Jameela Jamil, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Benedict Wong, and Jon Bass.
