Based on the Neil Gaiman DC Comics series of the same name, it follows a character known as Morpheus, a.k.a. Dream, (Tom Sturridge) after he is taken prisoner in a supernatural ritual. However, he escapes over a century later and sets out bring order back to his kingdom of the Dreaming.
The project comes to life after a long road attempting to get a movie based on the source material made instead. While that ultimately didn’t work out, it evolved into a television series and Netflix agreed to make it happen.
