X-Men in the MCU: Darwin (Armando Munoz)
Like Gambit, there were a few characters that FOX brought into the X-Men movies, but didn’t use to their full potential. One obvious answer is Darwin. Edi Gathegi’s version of the character made a brief appearance in X-Men: First Class and quickly exited the movie. While Darwin’s time in the comics isn’t exactly lengthy either, it was clear that there was potential left on the table with the movie.
Darwin’s ability to adapt to anything in order to survive could be a fun addition to the MCU and one that directors like Taika Waititi or Sam Raimi could have a lot of creative ideas for. He was also one of the original members of the X-Men, so he would fit well into an origin story for the group if Marvel went that route.
The other side of Darwin is the way he ties into what Marvel has already done. He has connections to the Scarlet Witch and World War Hulk. He’s also had run-ins with the Invisible Woman, Dr. Doom and Hela. Plus, the addition of Darwin makes a clear entry for Vulcan to enter the MCU as well. There’s just a lot you can do with this character on the big screen.
