Thunderbolts: 10 characters who could join the team in the MCU film
By Mark Lynch
4. Songbird
Melissa Gold, a.k.a. Songbird, is the Captain America of the Thunderbolts. She believes in her team because it helped save her. She was once a villain who ended up enjoying the life of a hero. No matter how many times the team breaks up, she comes back and remains hopeful that the Thunderbolts can help more people who were like her.
Songbird is important to the team, but this writer isn’t sure if she will appear in the movie. Because of her importance, she would probably have to appear in a couple of MCU projects before Thunderbolts. Because there will be a lot of Marvel characters in She-Hulk, Songbird could appear as her previous persona Screaming Mimi. If not here, then most likely in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
3. U.S. Agent
John Walker was the first person Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine recruited, as she showed up in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. As soon as John Walker was no longer Captain America, Valentina came in and took advantage of Walker’s need to be a hero and his desire for redemption along with his sense of justice. Unfortunately, Valentina has her own agenda.
Now that Walker is U.S. Agent, he’ll become the face of the Thunderbolts. Walker will become the posterboy for becoming a hero after doing villainous things. When the Thunderbolts eventually do something heroic publicly, U.S. Agent will be front and center doing the interviews. Meanwhile, Baron Zemo and/or Valentina will be up to something in the background.
