Thunderbolts: 10 characters who could join the team in the MCU film

2. Yelena Belova

Yelena Belova quickly became one of the most popular characters in the MCU. Florence Pugh’s character was cute, funny, and incredibly dangerous in Black Widow and again in Hawkeye. At the end of Black Widow, fans find out that she’s working with Valentina. In the same scene, Valentina tells Yelena that Clint Barton was responsible for the death of her sister (Natasha Romanoff). Even though it was technically true, it wasn’t the entire truth.

Yelena will likely remain on the Thunderbolts even though she was lied to. However, she won’t truly be with the team. If this writer had to guess, she’ll be reporting back to someone. Possibly Nick Fury (or the Skrull impersonating him). Regardless of who she’s working for, she’ll be looking to destroy the team from the inside.

1. Agatha Harkness

This is the one character on this list that has a small chance of being on this team. Agatha Harkness wasn’t a Thunderbolt in Marvel Comics and doesn’t have a connection to the team. That won’t matter in the MCU. There is a reason that Agatha could be on this team: She’ll want revenge.

Wanda Maximoff took Agatha’s mind away from her. To some, that’s a fate worse than death. When she remembers who she is, the first thing she’ll want is to get back at Wanda. Valentina could promise Agatha what she wants, but may not be able to deliver on it. When that happens, Valentina better be prepared for backlash.

Thunderbolts is released in theaters on July 26, 2024.
