She-Hulk: What should I watch before Attorney At Law?

She-Hulk: Attorney At Law is the newest entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but are there any MCU properties you need to watch before it?

The time has almost come for She-Hulk: Attorney At Law to make its presence felt on-screens. The eighth Disney Plus series produced by Marvel Studios, it has been a long time in the making as it was one of the projects announced earliest for the streamer. And now, the Jade Giantess’ arrival is upon us.

Viewers are excited to meet Tatiana Maslany’s hero in what is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated new shows of 2022. However, it’s important to remember that the show is a part of the ever-expansive Marvel Cinematic Universe, sharing continuity with the 29 movies and seven TV shows that came before it.

If you’re new to the Marvel world and would like to check out She-Hulk, don’t worry, you won’t have to watch all of those projects. But which ones should you tune into before the show premieres?

What movies do I need to watch before She-Hulk?

Before watching She-Hulk: Attorney At Law, there are some Marvel movies you should check out first. The most important one is 2008’s The Incredible Hulk. While that is the only Marvel Studios film not to feature Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk (Edward Norton portrays the character instead), it is imperative in introducing the Hulk and his backstory to the MCU. It also features Emil Blonsky, a.k.a. The Abomination, (Tim Roth) who makes his first major appearance since then in She-Hulk.

As Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner will play a significant role in the series, it’s probably best to familiarize yourself with his version of the character. If you’d like to do that, he took over the role in 2012’s The Avengers. That’s one we’d recommend checking out, along with Avengers: Age of Ultron, Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. The last two are particularly imperative as they explain how he became the “Professor Hulk” we see in She-Hulk.

What Marvel shows do I need to watch before She-Hulk?

As far as Marvel Studios shows go, there aren’t any of the previous Disney Plus offerings that are imperative to watch before She-Hulk: Attorney At Law. However, there is one series that might be worth checking out just to familiarize yourself with its title character, and that is Daredevil. 

The She-Hulk trailers have confirmed that Charlie Cox will be reprising his role as Matt Murdock, a.k.a. Daredevil, from the Netflix series. It’s unknown at this point what kind of role he will play, but this could set up his return in shows like Echo and Daredevil: Born Again.

So, if you have time, all three seasons of Daredevil are available to watch on Disney Plus.
