Wondering what Marvel movies you should try watching before you begin watching She-Hulk? Here are the films we recommend watching!

On Thursday, Aug. 18, the Marvel Cinematic Universe will expand once again with the release of Marvel Studios’ newest original series She-Hulk.

In the new series, fans are (finally!) introduced to Bruce Banner’s cousin Jennifer “Jen” Walters whose life is turned upside down when she suddenly must balance her career and love life with being a 6-foot-7-inch tall superhero. While the series marks the debut of yet another new hero, She-Hulk is very much rooted in the MCU with more connections and mentions than fans might have expected.

While you can definitely go into the series with a fresh set of eyes if you haven’t been keeping up with the MCU, your viewing experience will be strongly enhanced by doing a bit of homework ahead of time!

Marvel movies to watch before She-Hulk: Attorney at Law

If there is any one Marvel movie you should watch before you begin watching She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, it’s 2008’s The Incredible Hulk. Not only does the film tell the origins of the Hulk — who was later recast, a move that helped bring the Hulk we know and love today into the MCU — it also tells the origin of Emil Blonsky aka Abomination, who plays a major role in the series.

Beyond watching The Incredible Hulk, it couldn’t hurt to brush up on your Hulk history by watching the films in which the character appears as there are references from various Marvel movies sprinkled in within the show. These movies include The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. If you have time, you could even toss in Iron Man 3 and Captain Marvel which feature cameos from Bruce Banner as well.

Another film that could be worth checking out is Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings which featured Abomination’s return to the MCU in a moment that may or may not come into play within She-Huk. The film also featured an appearance from Wong, who is set to pop up in a few episodes this season on She-Hulk as well.

Speaking of Wong, given the role he plays in She-Hulk, it couldn’t hurt to add Doctor Strange and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness to your watch list as well.

Be sure to catch the She-Hulk: Attorney at Law season premiere Thursday, Aug. 18 on Disney Plus with new episodes releasing every Thursday!
