Why is Hulk’s arm healed in She-Hulk? She-Hulk’s first episode just provided the answer to that burning question that left fans puzzled ahead of the premiere.

Heading into the series premiere of She-Hulk: Attorney at Lawthere were a lot of questions and theories floating around the internet — including a few surrounding the inclusion of Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner/Smart Hulk, particularly his arm.

During Avengers: Endgame, fans will recall, Smart Hulk used the Iron Man Gauntlet to snap those who had been erased from the Blip back into existence. In doing so, Smart Hulk’s arm was severely injured in the process which led to Bruce sporting a sling in his post-Endgame appearances including in his post-credit cameo in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

However, in the footage released ahead of She-Hulk‘s premiere, Bruce is back as Smart Hulk and his arm seems to be fully healed. As a result, many fans began questioning whether She-Hulk takes place before the events of Endgame due to the fact Bruce’s arm seems to be perfectly fine and he’s also back in Smart Hulk form. It was a solid theory, but one that was quickly dispelled in the series premiere.

Warning: She-Hulk: Attorney at Law spoilers ahead.

Why is Hulk’s arm healed in She-Hulk? (How did Hulk’s arm heal?)

Why is Hulk’s arm healed in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law? Well, it turns out Bruce has his cousin Jennifer “Jen” Walters to thank for helping to heal his arm back to its full strength following its injury during the final battle with Thanos.

Following their car accident, Bruce’s blood got into Jen’s system which gave her a lethal dose of gamma radiation. Fortunately for Jen, she and Bruce share a rare combination of genetic factors that allow them to synthesize gamma radiation into something else.

After Jen’s exposure to his blood, Bruce began running tests to analyze her blood which proved to be the key to healing his arm. As Bruce told Jen, “the way it synthesized gamma, I was able to use it to completely heal my arm.” Healing his arm then allowed him to once again become his fully integrated self, aka Smart Hulk, again which is why we see Smart Hulk’s return in the series!

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law episode 1 is streaming now on Disney Plus with new episodes set to release weekly on Thursday.
