Leslie Grace could return as Batgirl or Barbara Gordon for the DCEU, but is this a good move for her?

Recently, Warner Bros. Discovery made some major changes to their company. One of the big announcements was a 10 year plan for the DCEU. This came with some bad news as projects like Strange Adventures, The Wonder Twins, and Batgirl were all canceled. The cancellation of the latter particularly upset fans, especially since it cost $90 million to make and the production was completed. Nevertheless, Leslie Grace’s Batgirl will likely never be released. However, It may not be the end for the former Barbara Gordon.

According to Variety, Warner Bros. Pictures Group chiefs Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy are trying to find other ways to use Leslie Grace in future DC Comics projects.

Considering that Batgirl could be used in multiple projects from Batman, to Birds of Prey, and other projects, there’s no reason that Leslie Grace shouldn’t debut in another project. However, that’s the problem with this recent decision.

This decision is obviously up to Grace if she is presented with the opportunity. That being said, it’s hard to forget how they treated her film. Batgirl’s cancellation was announced without foresight. This further proves something fans have said for years. Warner Bros. has been directionless for a very long time, and Batgirl‘s cancellation doesn’t quash those concerns. Instead of having something planned for her in the future, they dropped the movie and are now attempting to clean up their massive mess.

Leslie Grace has received a tremendous amount of support from fans. Perhaps that is the reason Warner Bros. Discovery is trying to rectify their mistake. It goes without saying that Leslie Grace deserves better than the hand she and Batgirl were dealt. She already has a completed comic book movie that could have helped put the DCEU in a better standing with fans. Instead, the DCEU is further back from where they started and WBD could be scrambling to make good with someone who should have a movie coming out this year.
