Did Disney Plus just confirm a Wolverine or X-Men cameo in She-Hulk?
By Mark Lynch
Is Disney Plus teasing the arrival of the X-Men, mutants, or Wolverine in in the very near future?
Episode 2 of Disney Plus‘ She-Hulk: Attorney at Law had an Easter Egg that couldn’t be ignored. On the side of an article Jennifer Walters was reading, an article title stated: “Man fights with metal claws in bar brawl.” If you do a google search, there aren’t a lot of Marvel Comics characters who fit the description. The main one is none other than the X-Men’s Wolverine.
If fans are being honest, this could mean nothing. For all we know, it could just be a little nod to the character or this fictional site may have just been trying to get clicks. In the real world, though, it gets Marvel Cinematic Universe fans excited.
However, the official Disney Plus Twitter account may have confirmed it’s Wolverine and when we’ll see him.
Is Wolverine coming to She-Hulk?
In the season finale of Ms. Marvel, mutants officially became part of the MCU and Kamala Khan was the first to be confirmed as a mutant. This writer thought that it would be a while before mutants would be heard from again. At the earliest it would be Namor in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. However, this tweet from Disney Plus could mean that the world’s most popular X-Man could appear in episode 4 of She-Hulk.
The countdown referenced in the tweet is until Disney Plus Day, which takes place on Thursday, September 8, but it just so happens to be the date when the next episode of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is released. Since Wolverine’s first official Marvel Comics appearance was in The Incredible Hulk No. 181, it would make sense for him to be seen first in another Hulk project. In this case, She-Hulk. That being said, this could mean nothing at all as well.
Marvel Studios is known for throwing curveballs. Quicksilver in WandaVision is a perfect example. Putting this on social media may get more viewers to watch She-Hulk. Hopefully, this isn’t a trick. Teasing Wolverine and not delivering could backfire. If that happens, people may stop trusting Disney Plus and Marvel Studios.
Regardless of whether it’s a reference to the next episode of She-Hulk or a possible announcement on Disney Plus Day, keep a lookout for something Wolverine related on Thursday.
