The Star Wars D23 panel takes place on Sept. 10. Find out what Star Wars D23 reveals were made during the presentation as we live blog the event.

On Sept. 10, Lucasfilm finally headed back to D23 with the Studio Showcase: Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm, and 20th Century Studios panel designed to promote the upcoming theatrical and television releases from the three studios.

In the can’t miss panel, Lucasfilm spotlighted some of its biggest upcoming releases including the upcoming third season of The Mandalorian, the second season of The Bad Batch and its new original series Ashoka. 

The panel brought with it teases of what’s to come for the iconic franchise and even brought about several new trailers for the upcoming Star Wars shows.

Although we’d have loved to see Lucasfilm get its own D23 panel, the studio instead shared the stage with Marvel Studios and 20th Century Studios. That said, it didn’t stop the studio from dropping plenty of exciting news about its upcoming slate including Andor, The Mandalorian and The Bad Batch. 

Across the Lucasfilm portion of the panel, we were treated to new details about the upcoming Andor series including a new trailer, were gifted with our first look at Jude Law in Skeleton Crew, received offical release dates for The Bad Batch season 2 and Tale of the Jedi, and also received a new trailer for The Mandalorian season 3.

Andor episode count revealed (and it’s massive)

While it remains to be seen how exactly Disney Plus will be breaking down the ordered episodes for Andor, it has been confirmed the series will have 24 episodes total. Those episodes are expected to be broken up into multiple seasons and season 2 has been confirmed to be nearing the beginning of production.

In addition to confirming the episode count for the series, Lucasfilm also debuted a handful of new character poster as the cast took to the Hall D23 stage to discuss the upcoming spy thriller.

A new trailer for Andor was released during the Star Wars D23 panel, you can check it out below:


Willow receives an official poster

As the attention shifted from Andor to Willow, Lucasfilm debuted a stunning new poster for the upcoming project which the cast reacted to on stage with fans upon also seeing it for the first time.

Speaking of the Willow cast, it has also been revealed that Christian Slater has joined the cast of the series which he described as an “absolute dream come true.”

Ahead of its November 30 premiere date, Lucasfilm debuted a new trailer for Willow during its D23 panel presentation. You can check out the brand new trailer for the series below:


The Bad Batch season 2 premiere date: When is season 2 arriving?

The Bad Batch season 2 will kick off on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2023, with a special 2-episode premiere event. The season will consist of 16 episodes total which are expected to release weekly following the special premiere week two-episode release. This release schedule seems to suggest there will be some overlap with season 3 of The Mandalorian which is slated to premiere in February 2023.


Tales of the Jedi release date

While fans might have to wait until 2023 for new seasons of The Mandalorian and The Bad Batch, Disney will tide fans over this October with the release of its new animated series Tales of the Jedi. The new series will consist of six original shorts which will be available to stream on Disney+ beginning Oct. 26, 2022.


Lucasfilm debuts jaw-dropping first look at Skeleton Crew

While it remains unclear when Skeleton Crew will debut, Lucasfilm provided fans with their first look at the Jude Law-led series at D23 while also confirming the series is set in the New Republic and will follow a group of kids lost in the galaxy.

The Mandalorian season 3 trailer

After the cast of The Mandalorian took to the stage to discuss the upcoming third season of the series, Lucasfilm debuted a new trailer for The Mandalorian season 3 which arrives in early 2023. You can check out the trailer below:
