The season 6 premiere of Rick and Morty was better than anyone could have expected. Instead of things going back to normal, each of the main characters had their own issues to deal with. A nice way to start the TV show’s new season instead of it just being all jokes.

Rick, Morty, and Jerry ended up in their home realities. Each of them had to deal with problems that forced them both to grow as people. Rick had to sacrifice getting revenge to save his family. Morty helps him understand that while they’re not his original family, they’re actually the one he loves and needs.

Earth Beth argued with Space Beth about Summer being clingy. In actuality, she was jealous that Summer thought Space Beth was cooler. After saving them from an alien’s stomach, Summer tells them that she’s a 17 year old girl and her emotions are like the wind. This ends with both Beths understanding each other.

Jerry was in the wrong reality. Rick and Morty took the wrong Jerry from Jerryboree. While there, Jerry found out that his original family didn’t respect him. His brief separation from Beth (season 4) actually strengthened their marriage and his family’s relationship. He flips off his old family and leaves with the one he’s been with.

It should be mentioned that the Rick who killed the main Rick’s wife and daughter is alive. He’s currently in Morty’s home world and already killed Jerry. At some point this season, the two will have to fight. Look for that to happen close to the last two episodes of the season.

In the next episode, titled “Rick: A Mort Well Lived”, Summer does a Die Hard. What does that mean? It’s likely that she’ll be sneaking around in vents and killing aliens. Fans should expect a ton of Die Hard references, quips about how the later movies stink, and Summer to get glass in her bare feet. We know that Summer is tough when she has weapons. Now viewers will see what she can do without any preparation.

How to watch Rick and Morty

As Rick and Morty is an Adult Swim-exclusive series, the second episode of the season 6 premiere can be viewed on TV on Adult Swim itself. It is also expected to be made available on Adult Swim’s website. It is also believed that the season will stream on HBO Max and Hulu at some point in the future.
