Daredevil: Born Again is perhaps the most anticipated new Marvel show on the horizon, but San Diego Comic-Con confirmed that there will be a lot of waiting for it.

Marvel Studios have made a lot of fan-favorite decisions since the inception of the Marvel Cinematic Universe back in 2008, but bringing Charlie Cox’s Daredevil and Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin back may be right up there with the best of them.

The stars portrayed their respective characters in the Marvel Netflix series Daredevil between 2015 and 2018, earning adoration from fans and critics – many of whom considered it one of the best comic book TV shows of all time. The years of silence after the show’s unanticipated cancellation (which had nothing to do with ratings) simply set the stage for its two biggest characters’ returns in the MCU.

Cox’s cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home and D’Onofrio’s arrival in Hawkeye confirmed there was a future for these characters in the MCU, and it was all confirmed at San Diego Comic-Con when Kevin Fiege announced that Daredevil: Born Again was in development for Disney Plus, with both actors reprising their roles.

When can fans expect Daredevil: Born Again? Well, that was revealed too and let’s just say, don’t be anticipating it this year.

Daredevil: Born Again release date predictions

Daredevil: Born Again will premiere on Disney Plus in Spring 2024. Yes, it’s a bit of a wait, but there are a lot of factors to take into account, particularly the fact that the show has an episode count of 18 episodes and it hasn’t started production yet. At the D23 presentation, Charlie Cox confirmed the episode count and revealed that he’s excited to play the title character in a show with more episodes than before.

If you need your Daredevil fix in the meantime, though, you can catch Charlie Cox’s Man Without Fear in an episode of Disney Plus series She-Hulk: Attorney At Law – a show in which he’s rumored to play a major role.

And that’s not all you’ll be getting of Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk, as Cox and D’Onofrio are once again set to reprise their roles in upcoming Hawkeye spinoff series Echo.
