The new ongoing Scarlet Witch comic book series by Marvel Comics will show how powerful Wanda Maximoff truly is.

For years, it felt like Wanda Maximoff, a.k.a. the Scarlet Witch, was underrated. This is despite her continuously showing amazing feats with her chaos magic. It wasn’t until Avengers: Disassembled and House of M that people started to take note of what she was capable of. Taking out the Avengers and reshaping an entire reality will do that.

Unfortunately, she went back to being underappreciated in Marvel Comics. Sure, she had moments throughout the years after the previously mentioned events. The problem was they weren’t memorable. Thankfully, her popularity in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has resulted in a comic book comeback – so much so that she’s getting a new ongoing comic book series.

Scarlet Witch’s new Marvel series

"“When you have nowhere else to turn…you turn to the Scarlet Witch. And God help anyone who gets in her way.” – Steve Orlando"

According to Marvel.com, writer Steve Orlando (Marauders) and artist Sara Pichelli (Ultimate Spider-Man with Miles Morales) will combine to take the Scarlet Witch to new heights. The release says the series will follow Scarlet Witch’s redemption after X-Men: Trial of Magento. That’s where she helped bring back characters who’ve been dead for years (like John Proudstar). It looks like this is only the beginning. The series is going to follow her new calling of helping those in need.

Writer Steve Orlando is excited to work on this project saying:

"“Since I first stepped into the House of Ideas, the Scarlet Witch has been with me—in fact, she was the star of my first Marvel work ever, kicking ass, weaving spells, and humbling Doom in DARKHOLD! So, there was no way I could pass up the chance to work on SCARLET WITCH.”"

Hopefully the comic book series will be as good as it sounds. With Steve Orlando and Sara Pichelli teaming up, there’s no reason it shouldn’t be incredible.
