Ezra Bridger will make his live-action Star Wars debut in Ahsoka and we now have a first look at what Eman Esfandi could look like in the role.

Season 2 of The Mandalorian was quite the game-changing season for the Disney+ original drama, particularly in the way in which the season managed to introduce so many beloved characters into the season’s arc.

The surprise appearances of Mark Hamill’s Luke Skywalker and R2-D2 were standouts for many fans as was the arrival of Temuera Morrison’s Boba Fett, but the season also created headlines thanks to the many iconic characters who made their live-action Star Wars debuts.

Timothy Olyphant popped up for a one-episode guest appearance as Cobb Vanth, a character who first debuted in the 2015 novel Star Wars: Aftermath. Katee Sackhoff reprised her role as Bo-Katan Kryze for the first time in live-action after voicing the character in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. And then there was the long-anticipated live-action debut of Star Wars: The Clone Wars fan-favorite Ahsoka Tano, played to perfection by Rosario Dawson — so much so that she’s getting her own spinoff series.

With Ahsoka set to further expand the live-action Star Wars universe, fans have been abuzz with anticipation over which iconic book and animated characters could be introduced next.

One character who many fans had been hoping might make their live-action debut in the series was Star Wars Rebels’ favorite Ezra Bridger. And it seems those dreams will be coming soon as actor Eman Esfandi has been tapped to play Ezra in Disney Plus’s Ahsoka series and it’s not hard to see why he’s perfect for the role after checking out one artist’s jaw-dropping fanart.

What Eman Esfandi could look like as Ezra Bridger in Ahsoka

Lucasfilm has not yet released any stills or footage of Eman Esfandi in the role of Ezra Bridger for any live-action projects; however, thanks to an incredible new piece of fanart from digital creator and artist Guille, we finally get the chance to see just how Esfandi might when he finally suits up as Ezra in Ahsoka.

In the stunning concept art, Esfandi transforms into Ezra donning his iconic orange jacket while wielding the green blade lightsaber he built after Darth Vader destroyed his original lightsaber on Malachor and signature helmet.

If there was ever any doubt over the casting of Esfandi in the role of Ezra, Guille’s fanart definitely makes a strong case for just how incredible he’ll as his likeness to the character’s animated counterpart is truly stunning. Those familiar with his work know Esfandi is an incredible actor and after seeing him in character as Ezra there is no denying he’s perfect for the Star Wars Rebels fan-favorite.

Is Eman Esfandi joining the cast of Ahsoka?

Although there has been no official confirmation from Lucasfilm, Eman Esfandi’s casting as Ezra Bridger has been confirmed by a number of sources including The Hollywood Reporter, who was first to break the news.

What’s going to be interesting to see is when exactly Esfandi will make his debut as Ezra in the upcoming series and how many episodes he’ll appear in. Given the character’s history with Ahsoka, it’s not at all surprising for Lucasfilm to make his live-action debut in the series as we can’t think of a better series for the character to enter the live-action Star Wars Universe.
