Asa Butterfield as Beast

Unlike many of the X-Men on this list, Beast was treated with proper respect by the Fox franchise. Kelsey Grammer played the character as the seasoned political advocate for the mutants. Nicholas Hoult played a young Hank McCoy in the Days of Future Past through X-Men Apocalypse.

In the comics, Hank was part of the original group of heroes recruited by Professor X. Originally, he started off with large hands and feet, which led to him being ostracized and picked on in school. Before joining the X-Men, Hank was the school “freak,” but a girl, Jennifer, saw the person he was. He eventually caught the attention of El Conquistador, who kidnapped Beast’s parents and forced the mutant to work for him. In need of help, Professor X, Cyclops, Iceman, and Angel saved Beast from Conquistador, who decided Hank was useless.

Asa Butterfield has some big shoes to fill, pun intended, but he’s a great young actor who has starred in a lot of movies and on TV. The 6’0 actor is a good height for Beast and he’s played the role of a hero in Enders Game. He needs that breakout role and Beast could be it.

If he doesn’t play the character, Alexander Ludwig (Vikings) would be another good option for the role.
