Phoebe Dynevor as Jean Grey

Jean Grey is a character that suffered from her original character trope as a damsel in distress created by the great Stan Lee. We won’t see a live action take on Jean’s best comic book story, the Phoenix Saga anytime soon, or again.

Jean has a few cool stories that would make for great TV. On the big screen, she needs to be presented as a hero in her own right. Bringing her into the MCU with a more defined character will help her in the long run. X-Men: Season One is one of the best stories that put the focus on Jean as a central character. Another excellent story is All-New X-Men, where Jean becomes the leader of the original five. It also takes the focus away from Jean and Cyclops’ love story.

Whoever plays Jean has to have a commanding presence similar to that of a leader, but also have the ability to play someone with a subtle, gentle nature.  Phoebe Dynevor should play Jean Grey because she can do just that. Anyone that saw her on Bridgerton knows how amazing she is as Daphne. In some ways, she embodied the characteristics of Jean.

Saoirse Ronan (Little Women) is another great choice as Jean, while You actress Victoria Pedretti is an up-and-comer who’d kill it as well.
