Giancarlo Esposito as Professor X

Sometimes the perfect casting exists. That’s exactly what Sir Patrick Stewart was to Fox’s original X-Men franchise. He looked like he was ripped straight from the comics, even with the British accent. James McAvoy did a great job playing the younger version of the founder of the X-Men. That’s all in the past, though with the Multiverse, there’s an outside chance of McAvoy reprising his role — but he shouldn’t. Instead, we need to start fresh, and find another actor with fantastic screen presence ready to lead a franchise.

Professor X has a deep past with connections all across the globe, so a seasoned actor makes sense. His peaceful and integrated approach to human and mutant relations resembles Martin Luther King. He’s a focused leader who inspires others to follow, using tactics that paint mutants in a positive light. Professor X is more than being bald, though it is part of it.

Giancarlo Esposito embodies everything you want in Professor X. It’s why fans have been clamoring for it. He’s been in the game for a long time, and he’s just now getting his flowers. He’s a transformative actor with a resume that includes Do the Right Thing, The Usual Suspects, Maze Runner, Breaking Bad, the Mandalorian, and The Boys — the list goes on. Making him Professor X would be money.

Jeffrey Wright (Westworld) is another great option. Stanley Tucci (Shazam) is another fan favorite who would be dope as well. Ewan McGregor is someone who should also be considered and not enough people are talking about that.
